Much of how we are feeling is reflected in our skin, whether that’s blemishes, spots, a rash, bags under our eyes or glowing and radiant skin!
There’s a whole host of factors that affect our skin; diet, sleep, our general health, stress and free radicals! We know about most of these elements about what about free radicals? What are they?
Free radicals are molecules that are everywhere in the air, in our bodies and in the materials around us. External factors such as pollution, sunlight and smoking also trigger the production of new free radicals, causing deterioration and fading, and in particular, visible ageing.
There are numerous protective methods from elements such as the sun and pollution, but what can make a significant difference are antioxidants, which act like protective erasers to combat and remove the free radicals. Our body naturally produces antioxidants, however, there are a host of other ways we can support cells and prevent cell damage, premature aging and restore good health and balance. Let’s look at some of these.
Research has shown that a diet rich in fruit and vegetables has a positive effect on the skin. Foods such as carrots, tomatoes, berries and even green tea and cocoa help improve the surface structure, its density and thickness of the skin. Thus the skin increases its ability to store an absorb vital Vitamin D, necessary to the systems of our body.
Trying to get people to eat the right foods can, however prove very challenging. One alternative is to try Juice Plus+.
Juice Plus+ is whole food based nutrition, including juice powder concentrates from 30 different fruits, vegetables and grains. Juice Plus+ helps bridge the gap between what you should eat and what you do eat every day.
A 12-week clinical study in healthy middle-aged women at the University of Witten-Herdecke in Germany showed that Juice PLUS+ increases the capillary circulation of the skin by 39%. Juice Plus+ also improved the hydration, thickness and density of the skin.
” I have been taking Juice Plus+ capsules for a year and it has made a huge difference to my eczema. In the past I have tried numerous creams from my doctor, which made little or no difference. It’s fantastic to find a natural product that has significantly improved it. Craig Townley.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
A gentle non-invasive therapy, CST is an amazing treatment for anyone! If we take teenagers for example, who are on an emotional rollercoaster with hormones all over the place, this can often be reflected in their skin with spots and acne. CST can really aid in calming their emotions down.
In adults, inner feelings are often reflected in your skin, and so often people don’t give themselves the time to slow down. CST can help on three levels – mental, physical and emotional – all of which are reflected in your skin! For more details on CST click here.
